Driving to Prienne, Miletos and the Aopllo Temple of Didyma After picking you up from your hotel we will drive along the Bafa Lake and through cotton fields. And then we will start with visiting Prienne. Then we will drive to Miletos and visit this ancient town. Afterwards we will have our lunch break. Then we will visit the Apollo Temple in Didyma.

    Drive to Prienne from Bodrum

    We ll drive through Milas passing Bafa Lake to Prienne.

    Visiting Priene

    Priene was an ancient Greek city of Ionia (and member of the Ionian League) located at the base of an escarpment of Mycale, about 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) north of what was then the course of the Maeander River (now called the Büyük Menderes or "Big Maeander"). Priene is known to have been the site of high-quality Hellenistic art and architecture. The city's original position on Mount Mycale has never been discovered; however, it is believed that it was on a peninsula with two harbours

    After a short drive start visiting Miletos

    Miletus was an ancient Greek city on the western coast of Anatolia, near the mouth of the Maeander River in ancient Ionia. Its ruins are located near the modern village of Balat in Aydın Province, Turkey. Before the Persian rule that started in the 6th century BC, Miletus was considered among the greatest and wealthiest of Greek cities.

    Apollo Temple of Didyma

    Didyma was an ancient Greek sanctuary on the coast of Ionia in the domain of the famous city of Miletus. Apollo was the main deity of the sanctuary of Didyma, also called Didymaion. But it was home to both of the temples dedicated to the twins Apollo and Artemis. Other deities were also honoured within the sanctuary. The Didymaion was well renowned in antiquity because of its famed oracle. This oracle of Apollo was situated within what was, and is, one of the world's greatest temples to Apollo.
